Start with the part of Los Angeles you will use
Venice Boulevard, Fountain Avenue and Avery Street offer three different starting points. Extra Space at 1810 Venice Boulevard is near Vermont Avenue. The Fountain Avenue branch is near North Vermont Avenue and Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, while Public Storage at 300 Avery Street is a downtown option associated with the Arts District. Use those exact addresses when comparing a move, rather than assuming all three are close to whichever Los Angeles neighborhood you call home.
For repeated collections, compare the round trip from your home or workplace, including where you will park and how you will carry the items out. For a single household move, compare the collection address, storage entrance and eventual delivery address together. A lower rent on the other side of your normal journey may add a second vehicle trip or extra paid mover time. Check the route at the time you expect to travel; do not choose from a city-center distance alone.
Venice Boulevard: indoor storage with a lift decision
The Venice Boulevard facility advertises climate-controlled storage, indoor access, first-floor access and elevator access, with moving carts available. These features describe choices within the building, not a promise that every quoted unit has the same floor or handling route. Ask the branch to identify the exact room, the elevator doorway and the distance between the unloading point and the unit before booking a bulky delivery.
Climate control can be worth comparing for belongings sensitive to temperature, but it does not remove the need for careful packing. Obtain the actual room conditions if you are storing delicate wood furniture, documents or electronics. Do not assume a humidity guarantee from a temperature-control label. If you are only putting away robust boxed items, weigh the added environmental specification against the practical cost of moving them through an elevator and corridor.
Fountain Avenue: covered handling, but check locker height
Fountain Avenue advertises a drive-in building, a covered loading bay, moving carts and elevators. That is a useful alternative when you want a sheltered unloading route. The operator also says the facility accommodates trucks larger than 20 feet; provide your particular vehicle dimensions rather than treating that description as a clearance certificate. Ask which entrance to use and whether unloading space needs to be arranged.
This branch also describes reduced-height lockers and rolling-stair access among its unit options. A locker and a full-height room with similar floor dimensions are not interchangeable. Measure carton height, the heaviest item you will lift and the door opening. Ask whether your quoted locker is upper or lower level and whether the access equipment is suitable for you. Do not select it for a sofa or other bulky item simply because the floor-area label appears large enough.
Avery Street: downtown address, indoor unit route
At 300 Avery Street, the facility lists indoor units and its displayed unit examples include elevator access and swing doors. Its page also discusses drive-up access, so get the actual product and entrance confirmed rather than assuming that general amenity describes the indoor room you are renting. An elevator-served room is a different handling job from pulling a van to a unit door.
For an apartment move, coordinate the collection building and storage building together: lift bookings at home, mover arrival, the storage unloading point and the final access deadline all need to work. A downtown address may suit later small collections without making a large-van delivery simple. Ask about the lawful stopping place, the number of carts available and whether another person can collect belongings using an authorized credential.
Plan around the access windows and the whole bill
Venice Boulevard lists access Monday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Fountain Avenue lists 8am to 7pm Monday through Saturday and 10am to 4pm Sunday. Avery Street lists 6am to 6pm on weekdays and 6am to 5pm on weekends. These are meaningfully different arrival windows. Allow time to unload and exit, and reconfirm holiday changes rather than treating a telephone support schedule as building access.
For a fair quote, use the same inventory, move-in date and planned stay at each address. Record the unit height, floor, door type, mandatory cover, lock and administration charges alongside rent. Public Storage discloses a one-time administration fee, but a rent-plus-fee subtotal is not necessarily the amount due. Ask for the complete first payment, the continuing rate, promotion conditions and move-out notice. A reservation or online hold should not be mistaken for a completed lease or permission to move in.
