Start with the Miami address you will actually visit

This selection covers Public Storage at 2336 Biscayne Boulevard and 151 NW Fifth Street, plus U-Haul Moving & Storage of Greater Miami at 1000 NE First Avenue. The Biscayne branch is near NE 23rd Street, with Edgewater and Wynwood among the communities its page discusses. The NW Fifth Street branch identifies Downtown, Brickell and Overtown as nearby catchments. U-Haul describes its NE First Avenue address as downtown. These are mainland Miami addresses, not additional branches in Miami Beach or a citywide pickup service.

For regular collections, compare the branch with your normal home-to-work route and the return trip. For a condo move, include the collection building's loading appointment and the eventual delivery address. A facility that is convenient for carrying one box may not be the simplest place to deliver an entire apartment. Ask for the vehicle entrance and unloading instructions before choosing from a map pin, and check the route for the vehicle you will actually use rather than assuming a passenger-car journey describes a moving truck's access.

Biscayne Boulevard: indoor storage with extended-access questions

At 2336 Biscayne Boulevard, the main feature panel advertises indoor climate-controlled units. Displayed room examples include elevator access and swing doors. The standard access schedule is 6am to 10pm daily, and the page additionally advertises 24/7 access availability. Before relying on an overnight visit, obtain the eligibility, activation process and any additional charge for your specific room. Do not read an extended-access badge as confirmation that every newly reserved unit can immediately be used at any hour.

For furniture arriving from Edgewater or another nearby apartment building, establish how the unloading point connects to the elevator and room. Measure the largest packed item against the door and elevator, not just the rented floor area. Ask whether a cart can be used throughout the relevant access window and whether unloading has a time limit. A later collection schedule can be valuable for work supplies, but the extra access is only useful if the whole route through the building remains available to you.

NW Fifth Street: an earlier finish changes move-day planning

The property at 151 NW Fifth Street advertises indoor climate-controlled storage and shows elevator-served room examples. It lists access from 6am to 6pm on weekdays and 6am to 5pm on weekends. That is a materially earlier finish than the standard schedule at Biscayne Boulevard. If your condo only releases an elevator late in the afternoon, work backward from the storage closing time and allow for unloading and exit; a late-running mover can otherwise leave you with a truckload and no usable destination.

The descriptive page also mentions drive-up access, although the main feature panel and displayed examples emphasize indoor rooms. Ask for a specific drive-up product if that handling arrangement matters, rather than assuming the indoor room you selected has it. For a downtown or Overtown move, obtain the actual stopping place and room floor. Keep the address, entrance and access deadline together in the moving instructions so the driver is not sent to a generic operator location or a neighboring branch.

NE First Avenue: carts and taller rooms, with separate hours

U-Haul's Greater Miami facility advertises indoor storage, climate control and free use of loading carts. It also lists extra-tall rooms of 12 feet among its features. Treat that as a product to request, not the height of every space: the same page includes storage lockers in its unit types. Ask for the actual height, floor and door opening, and confirm whether the quoted room requires an elevator or another handling step before assigning movers to it.

Storage access is listed as 7am to 7pm Monday through Thursday, 7am to 8pm Friday, 7am to 7pm Saturday and 9am to 5pm Sunday. This is not the same schedule as the other two addresses, particularly for early Sunday visits. U-Haul also offers truck and trailer services here, but renting a vehicle and renting a room are separate arrangements. Confirm the truck return deadline, storage entry and any unloading instructions independently rather than assuming one reservation completes both jobs.

Match environmental protection and charges to the belongings

All three facilities advertise climate control, which makes the exact room conditions a useful comparison for documents, textiles, wood furniture or electronics. Ask what the assigned room actually controls and whether any temperature or humidity limits form part of the agreement. Do not treat climate control as waterproofing, storm protection or an insurance guarantee. Pack belongings clean and dry, and ask about access interruptions and the procedure for collecting essential items if the building must close temporarily.

Request a complete first-payment and continuing-rent breakdown for the same inventory, dates and room type. Compare required protection, locks, promotions and notice periods alongside rent. Public Storage lists an administration charge; U-Haul advertises no deposit or administration fee and a first-year price-lock offer. Read the applicable terms rather than assuming every part of the bill is fixed. Keep essential documents outside storage, confirm move-in authorization and recheck the published hours close to your delivery date.
