Three addresses, not a city-wide inventory claim

The initial Chicago selection includes South Ashland at West 43rd Street, West 79th Street west of South Western Avenue, and North Western Avenue. These are real branches, not three neighbouring units at one address. Choose a practical area before comparing floor space.

Operator city searches can include nearby municipalities such as Oak Lawn, Cicero or Bedford Park. Those catchment mentions do not make a branch physically part of Chicago, and they do not add to our listing count. Use the exact street and postcode on the facility page when planning collection or delivery.

South Ashland: plan the indoor handling route

The South Ashland facility advertises indoor, first-floor and elevator-access storage, plus a covered, heated loading bay. It also advertises climate-controlled options. Ask which floor and doorway your quote covers; an amenity at a branch does not mean it applies to every available room.

For a household move, measure both the item and the route from van to room. A lift door can be the bottleneck even when the nominal unit floor area looks generous. Ask about cart use, unloading position, lift availability and whether the same route is open outside reception hours.

West 79th: heating, drive-up and drive-in are different

The West 79th Street branch explicitly advertises heated storage, drive-up units and a drive-in building. Heating is not evidence of cooling or a controlled humidity range. Keep those distinctions visible when comparing furniture, documents or electronics that may need a more specific environment.

Drive-up storage means approaching the unit door with your vehicle. A drive-in building provides a covered area for unloading but may still involve a corridor. Ask which arrangement you are renting. The branch also advertises vehicle storage; obtain measured vehicle-space details and permitted-use rules separately from a household-storage quote.

North Western: another route and access choice

The North Western Avenue branch advertises indoor, upper-level, ground-level and drive-up options. That gives you product types to ask about, not proof that each is currently vacant. If you need repeated access to tools or inventory, prioritise the door and floor you will use rather than a headline discount.

A complete tenant-access schedule is not published here. Ask the operator for gate, building and unit hours, including the rules for anyone else collecting items for you. CCTV or customer-support hours must not be mistaken for unrestricted tenant entry.

Compare the complete stay, including winter handling

For visits in cold or wet conditions, ask where you can unload under cover and whether carts and elevators are usable throughout tenant-access hours. Avoid packing damp outdoor equipment directly beside furniture or cartons. The branch page cannot establish the condition of the actual room on moving day; inspect it if possible.

Request the same size and dates from each operator and record the introduction period, continuing rent, mandatory fees, cover and notice. A month-to-month agreement can still have a full-period charge or a rate-change clause. No price ranking is offered because complete comparable quotes have not been collected.
